Custom WMS for your warehouse

I build WMS end to end: receiving, bin putaway, picking, cycle counts, barcodes, and two-way 1C sync. For wholesale, e-commerce, manufacturing, and gear rental — Royal Rental and DryRent logic for kits and serial numbers. Fullstack Vladislav Kompaniec — 130+ projects.

Why custom WMS

Excel and 1C alone can't deliver pick speed, stock accuracy, and peak-shipping visibility. Custom WMS matches your warehouse flows, not a boxed product.

Live accurate stock

Real-time balances by bin and SKU — less lost inventory and pick surprises. Scan and the system knows where each unit sits. Leadership sees turnover and expiry without Excel reconciliation.

Pick speed

Routes, waves, scanner tasks — optimal paths, fewer wrong-SKU errors. FEFO/FIFO for food and event gear with serials. Peak season queues and priorities.

1C without manual chaos

Two-way inbound, outbound, transfer docs — no twice-daily manual re-entry. Exchange errors logged with alerts; WMS ↔ 1C reconciliation on schedule. Integration experience from 130+ projects.

Lots, expiry, serials

FEFO/FIFO, lots, serial numbers — critical for food, pharma, rental. Each Royal Rental / DryRent unit with history: location, issuer, return condition.

Cycle counts in hours

Planned and ad-hoc scanner counts — discrepancies to reports immediately. Partial counts by zone without stopping the whole warehouse.

Multi-warehouse network

One system for central DC, FBS nodes, rental yard — transfers, reserves, network reports. Scale without platform change.

WMS: what matters before you start

Warehouse software is about your flows — not a boxed product over a weekend.

Without WMS, stock lags in 1C, picking lives in workers' heads, and counts eat weekends. Excel on tablets doesn't scale at peak — pick errors and oversell cost more than building the system.

Custom WMS models zones, bins, putaway rules, FEFO/FIFO, serials, kits. Event rental (Royal Rental, DryRent) tracks units with rigging history — not retail SKUs.

Typical cycle 15–25 days: layout, SKUs, scanners, receive/pick/count flows, 1C exchange, staging training.

Brief covers floor plan, peak loads, 1C config, marketplace roadmap — MVP scope follows.

WMS modules

From receiving to shipping, counts, and reports — MVP for your warehouse type.

Receiving

ASN, delivery match, discrepancies, barcode labeling. Dock to putaway — statuses and damage photos. On-site label print.

Putaway

Rules: zones, bins, ABC, heavy/fragile. System suggests optimal bin; worker confirms by scan. Warehouse map in admin.

Picking & kitting

Orders, waves, pick paths, multi-order picking. Reserve on order create — less oversell. Statuses: in progress, picked, packing.

Shipping

Packing, weight, parcels, docs, CDEK/Boxberry tracking. Scan shipped — WMS deduction and 1C doc. Act for client or marketplace.

Inventory

Scheduled by zone, ad-hoc, blind count. Discrepancies → act; adjustment with rights and audit. 1C reconcile button.

Barcodes & labels

EAN, Code128, QR, internal SKUs. Label printer and scanner print. Relabel on pallet split/merge.

1C exchange

Inbound, outbound, transfer, write-off — CommerceML or HTTP API. Retry queue on failure. SKU master synced.

Reports & KPI

Turnover, ABC, expiry, pick errors, picker productivity. Director dashboard — no weekly Excel exports.

Who it's for

Matched to your scenario and scale.

E-commerce & FBS

Own warehouse + marketplaces: Ozon, WB, Yandex — stock and ship without oversell. Marketplace API on roadmap.

Wholesale & distribution

Pallet and piece storage, shipment multiples, B2B orders. MOQ and tiers from ERP.

Gear rental

DryRent — kits, serials, on-rig, in-repair. Not retail WMS — Royal Rental fleet tracking.

Manufacturing

Raw, WIP, finished — moves between shop floor and warehouse. 1C production link.

Event & AV warehouse

Royal Rental — show kits, logistics, return QC. Rigging and damage statuses.

3PL multi-client

Multiple clients one warehouse — separate stock, billing by ops, client portals.

What we need

Clear inputs mean accurate estimate and 15–25-day timeline.

  1. SKUs

Items, lots, serials, expiry — what we track. Item count and yearly growth.

  2. Warehouse layout

Zones, bins, aisles — drawing or spreadsheet. ABC classes if any.

  3. 1C

Config, which docs exchange, sync frequency. Standard or custom exchange.

  4. Scanners & hardware

Android terminal models, label printers, warehouse Wi-Fi. Offline needed?

  5. Processes

Receiving → storage → pick → ship — as-is and target. Exceptions: damage, returns.

  6. Reports

Picker, director, finance KPIs. BI integration if needed.

Technical aspects

Reliability, security, and scale built in from day one.

Performance

DB indexes, cache, and queues keep the system fast as data and users grow. Load testing on staging before production.

Security

HTTPS, role-based access, audit logs, and API key protection. Personal data handled per your compliance model.

API & webhooks

REST and webhooks for website, 1C, Telegram, and partners — no manual re-entry. API docs included.

Mobile web

Responsive layout and PWA — most users work from phones. Native iOS/Android apps when needed.

Backups

Automated DB and file backups with verified restore on staging. Data loss in normal ops is unacceptable.

Staging

Test environment for team training and integration checks before release. Updates roll out without blocking core ops.

How we build it

  1. 01

    Brief & scope

Scenarios, roles, integrations — MVP and estimate in 1–2 calls. We lock v1 priorities and what moves to phase two.

  2. 02

    Prototype

Wireframes for key screens and admin — revisions before build. UX flows agreed so logic isn't rebuilt mid-project.

  3. 03

    MVP

Working flow on your domain: core modules and test data. Your team walks through scenarios on staging before live integrations.

  4. 04

    Integrations

Payments, 1C, Telegram, partner APIs — verified on staging. Test payments, doc exchange, and webhooks before go-live.

  5. 05

    Launch

Deploy, team onboarding, monitoring first operations. Handover of access, docs, and support for first iterations.

FAQ

WMS cost?

From 220,000 ₽. One warehouse, basic 1C and scanners — near minimum; multi-zone, offline scanners, marketplaces, 3PL logic add scope. Fixed price after brief.

Timeline?

15–25 days from brief to working MVP on staging. Depends on layout, SKUs, 1C depth. Picker training on launch day.

Expensive scanners?

Mid-range Android terminals and tablet web UI often suffice. Models matched to budget; offline sync optional.

How about 1C?

CommerceML or HTTP service for your config. Two-way exchange with error log; start with key docs, expand in phases.

Good for rental?

Yes — DryRent and Royal Rental: kits, serials, on-rig statuses. Vladislav Kompaniec designed warehouse logic for event gear.
